Rachael Willig
Owner and Executive Chef

Rachael's culinary journey spans continents, from Courchevel, France, in the snowy slopes to the sunny shores of Marbella, Spain and historic Florence, Italy. Her expertise in French cuisine began at a destination restaurant located in the French Alps at a 5 star ski resort. Later it expanded through diverse roles at a Spanish 5-star beach resort on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in Marbella, Spain. After it deepened in the heart of Florence, Italy under renowned chefs and a local grandmother. Her love for cooking was ignited at an early age preparing meals with her mom for her large family of 10 and further developed at The Midwest Culinary Institute. Rachael's diverse background, including stints at local fine dining establishments and training under Cincinnati's legacy, Chef Jean Robert. In 2019, all of these experiences culminated in founding The Family Chef, her love letter to the world. Here, she blends her global cooking experiences with her love for feeding the hungry, and passion for building up families. Her hobbies are as diverse as her resume, from salsa dancing, to traveling, exploring new food scenes, playing pickleball, and spending time in prayer to deepen her faith, to list just a few.

Anthony Iseley
Personal Chef

Anthony's gastronomic journey began along California's coast, training in top-tier restaurants before mastering his craft at the San Francisco Cooking School. His diverse experience spans Brazilian, American, Italian, Californian, and Mexican cuisines, enriched by skills in butchery and commercial fishing. With over seven years in the industry, Anthony's passion for blending the freshest ingredients into culinary masterpieces continues to grow. Two years ago, he returned to Northern Kentucky to be closer to family, help around the family farm, and even started to grow his own produce as a hobby during the summer. When not in the kitchen, Anthony enjoys spearfishing, surfing, hiking, painting, and dirt biking. He also has a unique pastime—diving for sea urchins which he became a pro at during his stint as a commercial fisherman.

Kate Lopez
Personal Chef

Chef Kate, a native of Cincinnati, has carved a remarkable path in the culinary world, driven by early kitchen experiences with her mom and encouragement from her grandmother. She holds a Culinary Arts degree from the University of Akron and a Certificate in L’Art de la Pâtisserie from the French Pastry School in Chicago. Her career flourished in Chicago, where she spent 12 years at prestigious restaurants, hotels, and private clubs, honing a wide array of cuisines and techniques. In 2016, Kate returned to Cincinnati, joining Jean-Robert de Cavel as Pastry Chef at Restaurant L, before advancing to Chef Manager with Compass Group. Her culinary delights are deeply rooted in the joy her creations bring to others. Kate, alongside her chef husband, finds joy in their daughter’s role as their eager taste-tester. Away from the kitchen, she enjoys family time, travel, and reading.

Grant Iseley
Personal Chef

From his early days in California to his current role in Cincinnati, Grant's culinary journey reflects a deep passion for diverse flavors and cooking. Starting at age 10, he prepared breakfast for his family, including Chef Anthony, nurturing a love for food that led him to pursue a Hospitality degree at the University of Kentucky in 2009. Working part-time at The Corner Café, he gained practical experience which he later expanded in Los Angeles' vibrant food scene. Relocating to Cincinnati in 2016 with his wife, Grant became a sought-after caterer, impressing with his skills in smoking techniques learned at Eli's BBQ and kitchen management at Condado Tacos. His expertise makes him an exemplary personal chef, adept in managing dietary preferences and food safety. Beyond cooking, Grant's passions include gardening—using his home-grown produce in recipes—and hiking with his wife and dog, always exploring new culinary ideas.

Madeline Hendrix
Director of Operations

Madeline was raised in Southern California, but now lives in Columbus and works as our Director of Operations and Marketing. She received her undergraduate degree in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame, where she was also a part of the Women’s Boxing team, and her MBA from Western Governors University. Madeline is coming to us from a career in education, working as the head of the Business Department at Bishop Hartley High School in Columbus. After 6 years in education, she is excited to bring a fresh perspective and hopefully pick up some cooking skills along the way. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outside with her husband and toddler son, as well as hiking and reading. In her role, Madeline is responsible for client communications and relations, as well as developing and executing marketing strategies that enhance our company and engage our customers. As such, she will be the person most frequently communicating with you, so do not hesitate to reach out to her if you have any questions or concerns. While Madeline won’t be working in your kitchens, she serves as a happy taste-tester for new recipes, and is looking forward to keeping things cooking behind the scenes.

The Family Chef is expanding! If you’re passionate about cooking great food and seeking a fun and creative work environment with competitive pay and a flexible schedule, we would love to welcome you to our family! We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available in Cincinnati and Columbus. We are looking for chefs with at least two years of professional cooking experience, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a reliable vehicle. Reliability and professionalism are a must, and candidates must pass a background and drug test. If you’re interested in joining us, please submit a cover letter below. All the way from California, meet Chef Anthony!! Anthony was raised in Southern California but has deep Kentucky roots. He spent his professional career in California where he trained at some of the best restaurants along the coast. He attended Culinary Arts School at San Francisco Cooking School, and has experience not only in Brazilian, American, Italian, Californian, and Mexican restaurants, but in butchery and commercial fishing as well.Anthony loves to mix the freshest ingredients to make his masterpieces. With more than 7 years of restaurant experience, Anthony is more passionate about cooking than ever!He recently just moved back to Northern Kentucky to live closer to his family and help around the family farm. He has even taken up growing his own produce this summer.Fun fact: he used to dive for sea urchins in Southern California while working as a commercial fisherman for a large seafood company.His other hobbies include: spear fishing, surfing, hiking, painting, and dirt biking.

In Italy, Rachael deepened her craft in the kitchens of Grand Hotel Cavour and Locale Firenze, guided by expert Italian chefs and the invaluable lessons of an Italian grandmother, enriching her understanding of Italian cooking.This global journey was built on a foundation laid in her childhood home, where cooking with her mom for a family of 10 ignited her passion for food and service. Further shaped by her education at The Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State, and by working at fine dining restaurants, catering services, and country clubs, in her beloved hometown, Cincinnati! She was even honored to train under the late Chef Jean Robert, a Cincinnati legend.

Kate Lopez

Personal Chef

Kate is a native Cincinnatian who holds a degree in Culinary Arts from the University of Akron as well as her Certificate L’Art de la Pâtisserie from the esteemed French Pastry School, in Chicago. While working towards her degree she worked at Sturkey’s, under the guidance of Paul and Pam Sturkey. Kate spent the 12 years working at some of the top restaurants, hotels and private clubs in Chicago, expanding her knowledge and expertise in a flavorful variety of cuisines and techniques.In 2016, Kate returned to Cincinnati to raise herfamily and work with Jean-Robert de Cavel as hisPastry Chef at Restaurant L. Kate left RestaurantL to take a position within Compass Group,ultimately rising to Chef Manger. Kate’s greatest joy in cooking and baking hasalways come from the enjoyment others find inher creations. She is looking forward to cookingon a more personal level!Kate and her husband, who is also a chef, have aprecocious 8-year-old daughter who loves to bethe taste-tester for Mom and Dad.When Kate isn’t in the kitchen, she loves hangingout with her family, traveling and reading.
